Thank you for spending the time to review the Alandale Advisor for April 2006. It is a pleasure to keep you up to date with a monthly market update and timely safety / product information.

This month, our attention continues to focus on SB 899 as it changes the business climate in California. Our first article deals with premium savings larger companies are realizing while the final article laments that smaller companies are not receiving the same relief. We have also provided an interesting article as relates to workers injured while driving drunk. The situation occurred in New Jersey, however, I understand it will impact California very soon. Finally, I want to commend Tricia Townsend (Alandale Personal Lines Manager) for her courageous and selfless act, please read inside.

Thanks to all who attended our seminar on Employment Practices Liability on March 22nd. I would also like to thank Ron Novotny of Hill, Farrer & Burrill for his presentation and handouts. In staying with that theme, our Safety Spotlight focuses on "The Duty to Protect: The Employer's Responsibility to Provide a Safe Work Environment" please read and review your policies and procedures.

Our next seminar, May 17th, focuses on the importance of protecting your company from Directors & Officers Lawsuits. This is another hot button, with many attorney's no longer finding work in the Workers Compensation arena. This is a must for business owners and officers.

Regards,

Paul Traughber
